Understanding Hospice Care
Controlling Your Medical Destiny
Advance Medical Directives are legal documents that can help guide physicians and loved ones in medical decision-making in the midst of a crisis.
There are basically two parts:
- A Living Will: Describes the types of medical treatments you prefer should you be unable to communicate your wishes.
- Health Care Power of Attorney: Identifies who you would want to make health care decisions for you should you be unable to make them for yourself.
