Five Physicians Complete
Palliative Medicine Fellowship
Three physicians in this year's graduating class of Capital Hospice's Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine will continue to serve our community. Two will become Capital Hospice staff physicians and a third will run a hospital-based Palliative Care program in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Pictured during graduation ceremonies, from left:
- fellows Malgorzata Sullivan, MD and Farrah Daly, MD, will remain with Capital Hospice in DC and Loudoun County, Va. respectively
- Perry Fine, MD, honorary national faculty, researcher, professor and clinician at the University of Utah Pain Research Center
- Malene Davis, Capital Hospice President and CEO
- Cameron Muir, MD, Capital Hospice Executive VP of Quality and Access
- fellow Steve Wilks, MD, will become Medical Director of the Palliative Medicine Service at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda
- fellow Jeff Manuel, MD, will work for Kaiser in Colorado
- fellow Sharona Sachs, MD, will become Clinical Director of Palliative Care at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire
- and
Jessica Heintz, MD, director of Capital Hospice’s fellowship program.
Thus far, every graduate of Capital Hospice's fellowship program achieved board certification in the medical specialty of Hospice and Palliative Medicine on the first attempt. Graduates shown above will seek board certification in 2010.
